GREDO provides basic primary health care including reproductive, community and communicable health services. With Health Education Sessions, Community level sensitization and Social Mobilization.

Organizational Objectives:

  1. To contribute towards increasing availability, access to and utilization of cost-effective, quality and gender-sensitive nutrition, WASH and health services, particularly for women, children, and other vulnerable groups in South central Somalia.
  2. To contribute towards improving availability, accessibility and utilization of equitable quality basic education services to communities in South central Somalia.

GREDO’s Protection department safeguards vulnerable populations, including women, children, and people with disabilities, from violence and exploitation. It provides case management, psychosocial support, and referrals, while also strengthening community protection mechanisms through training on child welfare and positive parenting. The department empowers communities to create safer environments for at-risk individuals.

Departmental objective:

  1. Safeguard Vulnerable Populations: Provide comprehensive case management, psychosocial support, and material assistance to protect at-risk individuals, especially women, children, and people with disabilities, from violence and exploitation.
  2. Strengthen Community Protection Mechanisms: Build the capacity of caregivers, child welfare committees, and communities through training on child protection, positive parenting, and safeguarding practices to enhance local protective environments.
  3. Promote Psychosocial Well-being: Offer psychosocial support and counseling survivors of abuse, ensuring their emotional recovery while empowering them to rebuild with dignity and resilience.

Services in Somalia?

GREDO’s Protection department safeguards vulnerable populations, including women, children, and people with disabilities, from violence and exploitation. It provides case management, psychosocial support, and referrals, while also strengthening community protection mechanisms through training on child welfare and positive parenting. The department empowers communities to create safer environments for at-risk individuals.

GREDO is actively improving protection services by providing comprehensive support to individuals at risk of protection violations. In 2023, GREDO supported 5,356 individuals through case management, referrals, and direct assistance. The organization’s protection services include psychosocial support, material aid, and
capacity-building training for caregivers and community child welfare committees.

Additionally, GREDO conducted training on positive parenting and child protection, strengthening the capacity of communities to safeguard children and other vulnerable groups. Through its protection programs, GREDO is helping to create safer environments and uphold the rights and dignity of those most at risk in Somalia.
