The SOM Danida SPA 2022-2025 Lot CIV is an integrated project funded by Danida in partnership with Save the Children Somalia, focusing on youth empowerment in Baidoa, Somalia. The project aims to equip youth with life skills, entrepreneurship, and market-responsive, climate-friendly training to support employment in green economies. Additionally, it seeks to build resilience for children, adolescents, youth, and their families who are affected by conflict, climate change, and migration. Through partnerships with local civil society organizations (CSOs) and youth associations, the project aims to enhance youth participation in climate change advocacy, child rights, and leadership in humanitarian coordination.
Key objectives include reducing physical, institutional, and social violence against children and youth, strengthening the capacity of local CSOs, and increasing funding for local partners. The project targets 10 host communities, 9 IDP settlements, and 17 CSOs, directly benefiting over 24,000 children (boys and girls), 2,800 adolescents and youth (including those affected by conflict and SGBV), and various local actors.
The project runs from January 2022 to December 2025.
