About Us
Gargaar Relief and Development Organization (GREDO) is a national, non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization headquartered in Baidoa, Somalia with sub-offices across southern states. GREDO was initiated in December 1992 by a group of Somali intellectuals and well-wishers in response to the needs of the community. Since 1992, GREDO has been at the forefront of emergency response, establishing operations in remote locations and reaching those most in need.
With a geographical footprint spanning over 20 districts, our 700+ dedicated staff, and a network of community-based and civil society organizations we endeavor to strengthen and diversify livelihoods, promote access to markets and financial services, increase access to basic services in health, nutrition, water, protection, and education as well as, resilience, environmental management, and governance with a focus on human rights, access to justice, women empowerment, and enhance community governance and mechanisms.
