Non-profit non-partial, non- political and voluntary              organization based in Baidoa. To reach the most affected grass-root communities in Bay and Bakool regions and lower Shebelle effectively and efficiently, the necessity of local partnership in relief program appeared. Responding to the partnership need, a group of Somali intellectuals and well-wishers initiated in December 1992 a local non-governmental organization called Gargaar Relief and Development Organization (GREDO) the organization has implemented during these period different projects including relief and emergency programs and later improved into rehabilitation and developmental programs.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to establishing teams of health workers consisting of various cadres of health professionals to deliver lifesaving emergency health services to the population in need through this program with high impact on lives of the most vulnerable population groups.<\/p>\n<p>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/p>\n<p>The position and basic qualifications are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>CERTIFIFED NURSE<br \/>\nThe job holder will ensure the following:<\/p>\n<p>To ensure that every beneficiary receives an adequate medical examination, the required routine and prescribed medication and referral for additional treatment, as appropriate and according to the protocols and assist the Health Project Manager in supporting staff supervision and follow of beneficiary, referrals.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<br \/>\nTo strictly follow guidelines<br \/>\nTo ensure that each beneficiary receives a routine medical examination<br \/>\nTo ensure that each beneficiary receives the routine medication<br \/>\nTo ensure that any beneficiary requiring further medical assistance is referred to the nearest medical centre in accordance with protocols<br \/>\nTo record all symptoms of beneficiaries and medication given and complete the child\u2019s card at every visit<br \/>\nTo keep an up to date record of all medication used and be responsible for stock management and reporting (distribution monitoring, use of no expired drugs, stock ordering etc).<br \/>\nTo ensure that local customs relating to privacy are adhered to<br \/>\nTo handle the beneficiaries in a sensitive and reassuring manner<br \/>\nTo ensure that the sites are left in a clean manner<br \/>\nTo ensure that all equipment is in good working order and cleaned after the distribution, ready for the next distribution<br \/>\nTo report any problems or broken equipment to the Health Project Manager immediately<br \/>\nTo prepare any necessary reports as requested by the Health Project Manager<br \/>\nTo attend training as requested<br \/>\nTo attend team meetings on a regular basis<br \/>\nTo ensure that mothers respect basic hygiene principles<br \/>\nTo ensure that waste (medical and non medical) is appropriately disposed of<br \/>\nTo be responsible for ensuring water availability for hands \/ body and clothes washing<br \/>\nTo respect secure storage for medication and food and proper record keeping<br \/>\nTo ensure caretakers receive basic health education in feeding, hygiene and health<br \/>\nTo supervise two nutrition workers and one Community Mobiliser in the area<br \/>\nTo undertake other tasks as requested by the Health Manager<\/p>\n<p>Qualification and experience<br \/>\nQualified nurse\/Certified nurse<br \/>\nNutrition programme, primary health care or community health experience<br \/>\nProven capacity in management and teamwork<br \/>\nExcellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathies with all beneficiaries and their careers<br \/>\nDemonstrable ability to write reports<br \/>\nPrepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment<br \/>\nAbility and willingness to frequently travel and stay at the field<br \/>\nPrevious experience of work with humanitarian agencies<br \/>\nFluency in written and spoken English<br \/>\nDesirable<br \/>\nExperience of Health work and the design and implementation of programmes, including monitoring and evaluation<\/p>\n<p>Child Protection<br \/>\nThe responsibilities of the post will require the post holder to have regular contact with children or young people<\/p>\n<p>Core Values and Critical Competences.<\/p>\n<p>Respect                                   Integrity                                  Transparency &#038; Accountability<\/p>\n<p>Commitment                           Excellence                               Diversity<\/p>\n<p>Initiating Action                 Facilitating Change                 Team Mobilization<\/p>\n<p>Stress Tolerance                  Collaboration                        Coaching and Mentoring<\/p>\n<p>Adaptability                        Negotiation                           Conflict Management<\/p>\n<p>NB: All applicants should drop a letter of application and updated CV (including 3 Professional referees) to recruitment@gredosom.org and indicate the position applied for in the subject.
