GREDO 30 Anniversary Report.

 

Gargaar Relief and Development Organization (GREDO), is a national humanitarian and development organization operating in the south-central Somalia and was established in December 1992.
In 25th February 2023, GREDO celebrated it’s 30th anniversary.

Over the 30 years of humanitarian and live saving programing in Somalia, in collaboration with and funding from over 50 partners  and donors, GREDO implemented over 165 projects and reached 0ver 9 million people across south-central Somalia through Health, Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, Food Security and Livelihoods, Protection, Safeguarding, infrastructural development and peace building in over 25 districts and hundreds of villages and sub villages in urban and rural areas.

GREDO 30 Anniversary on 25th of February 2023 was a full day big event. the event components are the followings:

Part One:

• Welcoming and Introductory speech by GREDO Executive Director. Mr. Alinur Ali Aden.

• Official event opening speech by deputy parliament speaker of the Southwest State of Somalia.

• Private sector representative.

 

• Community representatives.

1. Best service providers
   • Salaam Bank was awarded as the best service providers.
     Salaam Somali Bank was the most committed Bank in supporting GREDO provide mobile cash assistance to millions of droughts/conflicts affected communities in southern states of Somalia.
     

     

2. Best community member
   • Best community member award was presented to IBRAHIM MOHAMED NOR (KALAAY), the commissioner of Awdiinle resident.
     Mr. Kalaay was very committed and sacrificed in supporting GREDO team operating in Awdiinle
     

     

3. Best departments of GREDO
   • Health and Nutrition, WASH, FSL, Education, MEAL, Finance, and Logistic departments were awarded in recognition of their respective milestone achievements in serving the community and contributing towards GREDO’s mission.
